The information and communication revolution as a means to national development has initiated the expansion of information and communication infrastructure with the need for journalism education in India which in turn initiated the peoples’ desire to access information from every probable source for furthering their socio-economic-political development. This has paved the way for growth and development of journalism and mass communication as a subject of profession.
Started in 2005, Department of Journalism & Mass Communication offers Undergraduate General Course for the students (Hons. and General) of various departments. Students are practically trained in writing news reports, taking interviews, news editing, page making using Quark Express, making display advertisements using Photoshop.
Students of this department are working in various news outlets and organisations including TCS, Tech Mahindra.
